Hello. I am a Heslop researching the family. I've traced my family group back to the Swaledale/ Arkengarthdale area in North Yorkshire. My earliest ancestor is Chrisopher Heslop of Kogden (Cogden) born about 1685. I then have a direct line through to High Grange, near Bishop Auckland and then on to West cornforth in Co. Durham. I have also found links to Heslops in Wisconsin, America, also links to Northumberland Heslops but, unfortunately I can find no link to the ones you mention. Any of this mean anything to you? I Have a william heslop born hetton durham 1880 he married a margaret jane hood born langton durham 1878. williams dad was john heslop born coundon durham 1854.

cornforth and coundon are not to far away from each other. poss the my heslop could have had a large family and moved to next town or yours the same. there might be a link somewhere.
