Alexander Fullerton--landlord in Ballintoy
« on: Wednesday 24 April 13 15:43 BST (UK) »
I am seeking detailed information about Alexander Fullerton, landlord of much land in Ballintoy parish in the 1800s.  He lived in England--he's not the man of the same name in Jamaica.

Alexander Fullerton lived a very long life and I am especially interested in the location of family papers shedding light on his tenants and land ownership in Ballintoy.  They do not seem to be at PRONI.  Thanks.

Can you include his birthyear please?  Is he the 60yr old living in Liverpool in 1871 with 30yr old wife Ellen?

Freebmd shows marriage as 1867 - she was nee Flynn

Could the date Alexander Fullerton was involved with Ballycastle lands be a bit earlier than '1800s'?

Might be worth contact the person who posted this-
"Alexander Fullerton who bought Ballycastle land in 1760 and then sold it on late 1700's or early 1800's to the Cuppage Captain and then onto McShanes. The Castle was pulled down - I would love to know if anyone has a sketch or painting of the castle and / or any information on descendants of the George Cecil Fullerton who was buried in the churchyard there…. I have plenty of information if anyone would like to share it…."

Thanks very much to both of you.  The Alexander Fullerton I am seeking is the one born in 1808 and married Lady Georgiana Leveson Gower in 1853.  I believe he died about 1907.  But he is of the family you both mention.

This Alexander Fullerton was my gg grandparents' landlord in Ballintoy civil parish and I am seeking further information, especially whether there are accessible family papers.  Thanks again.

The Alexander Fullerton that is listed during the mid-1800s in Ballintoy has the middle initial G.

Yes, he was Alexander George Fullerton and he was married in 1833, not 1853 as I mistakenly posted above.  He is the landlord of much land in Ballintoy parish in Griffith's Valuation. Thanks.

Alison and Jenni,

I see your last posts are from 2013, but please reply.
I can put you in touch with a living descendant of Alexander George Fullerton (1808-1907).
We are actually working together on piecing together some related names and he is in possession of a nice memoir written by A.G. Fullerton.

We both have much to share.
Let's talk,
