Lady Shore cargo and convict ship.

Hello, this is my first visit to the Australia board  :)
I was wondering if anyone can answer my question please?

My ancestor was a steward & carpenter aboard the Lady Shore Government Transport ship in 1810.  I've read about the mutiny that took place about a ship called the Lady Shore, in 1797.

I haven't been able to find out what then became of the ship after the mutiny... What do you think, were they the same ship? Or different ships that just happen to share he seam name??

Thanks
Angelfish

Hi angelfish.
This account says there are 2 possibilities/stories of the fate of the Lady Shore after the mutiny - one says that the ship was dismantled and sold and the other says that it eventually reached Cape of Good Hope having been recaptured.

Thank you Ros. What a wonderful website that is.

I would have thought there must be some kind of record held, probably in Britain, about the fate of the ship. One day we might know.

Hi AngelFish,
Yes there are lots of stories on the mutiny on trove - the one I chose was relatively (?) recent to get a historical perspective.

I think that if it was the same ship then they would have known its fate.

I couldn't find any mention of the Lady Shore Government Transport Ship on trove.  Did this ship come to Australia?

cheers,
   Ros

Hi, I am a descendant of Thomas Millard, the Lady Shore carpenter. Is that who you are referring to as your relative?
