« on: Friday 09 July 04 21:49 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone :)
I am trying to find any information relating to CHARLES and LAURA PEXTON ( nee GILL).
They lived in sheffield in the early 1900`s . I believe they had four children,

       RUBY
       DOUGLAS dob 1202/1917
       JACK
          ?
CHARLES was a joiner by trade
I do not know if Charles was born in sheffield, but I have hit a brickwall here  as until I can get a dob I can`t match him to any of the Charles pextons on the cencus. I`m a newbie at this , so any help or comments would be much appreciated !.

cheers Ian.

Other fh ints,  PEXTONS in Hull, KIRKBURTON and Kirkheaton
I would be greatful for any details on the following,Pextons in sheffield,kirkburton/kirkheaton, and hull.

cheers Ian.

Hi,

have found this on 1891 census at house no ? Clapton Fields, Marsh, Huddersfield

Billy Pexton 42 born Kirkheaton Blacksmith
Elizabeth Pexton 38 born Huddersfield
arthur pexton 14 born huddersfield
frank pexton 7 born kirkheaton
charles pexton 5 born kirkheaton

I know this Charles is still alive on the 1901 census but I have run out of credit to see if everyone is there but he is still in Hudds working as an errand boy  aged 15.
Any census information included in this post is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

 :) Hi Winston,
thanks for your help,I do know of some pextons from kirkheaton, but not  the family you listed!. I`ve been to the village graveyard and there are thirteen gravestones with pextons ( none of the names you gave) so I`m hoping this family is the one that moved on to sheffield.
The charles you mentioned would have been 31 in 1917 when my dad was born, which I think could be plausible ???.
So thanks again, you may have helped me to get through my
BRICKWALL.

regards, Ian.
