Paterson of Alloa
« on: Saturday 04 May 13 17:29 BST (UK) »
Hi-looking for possible m/i for gt/gt grandpa Alexander Paterson ex slater who previously lived at craigward place and earlier kirkgate st but died in 1896 as a pauper residing in Smiths Model Lodging House on Kirkgate.
Death registered by his son Alex but no knowledge of where buried.
Would deaths at above address be laid to rest close by? Notice on 1899 map of Alloa a large cemetery at the end of Kirkgate and was wondering if remains of residents would have been interned here.
Anybody any knowledge.

as a pauper the chances are that there willbe no MI because probably no stone. would most likely be put in the nearest paupers grave ie maybe a shared plot. however records should still be available at the cemetery.

might find this helpful;

You can check Clackmannanshire Burials here - http://www.clacksweb.org.uk/community/searchburialrecords/   No A. Paterson in Greenside in 1896 but there is an A. Paterson buried in Sunnyside Cemetery 4 April 1896. Location of grave is also given and there is a cemetery map.

Any help?
