Beeson family
« on: Sunday 05 May 13 20:12 BST (UK) »
After a while of searching, I have finally found the baptism of Elizabeth Beeson (my 6th GGmother). She married William Hales at Lyddington in Rutland on 14 May 1758. She was baptised at North Luffenham on 15 Mar 1724.

She was the child of Richard Beeson and Elizabeth. Cant seem to find a marriage for these two, or a baptism for Richard.

Can anyone help?

Thank you!
David.

Hi David

According to the North Luffenham parish records:
Marriage Dec 27 1715, Richard Beeson & Eliz: Plowright both of ye parish.

Other entries that may interest you are:
Christenings:
April 19 1693 Elizabeth ye daughter of Robert Plow-wright bap.
Aug 20 1716 Richard son of Richard & Eliz Beeson
Nov 28 1718 Mary daughter of Richard & Eliz Beeson
Mar 15 1723 Elizabeth daughter of Richard & Eliz Beeson
Mar 20 1725 Mary daughter of Richard & Eliz Beeson

Nov 12 1746 Edward natural son of Sarah Beeson

Marriages
May 16 1743 James Crunkhorne & Eliz Beeson
Mar 26 1749 George Leaper & Mary Beeson

Burials
Nov 20 1716 Richard son of Richard & Eliz Beeson
Dec 28 1751 Richard Beeson
Jan 7 1772 Elizabeth Beeson (Widow)

The years are taken from the register where they run from, I think i'm right in saying from Ladys Day to Ladys Day (someone may tell me different!) so the record for Elizabeth bap Mar 15 is shown as being in the 1723 records. A bit confusing I know.....
Can't find a baptism for Richard Beeson as yet, may have missed one or two, bit hurried at minute will let you know if I find any other records.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much!

Just one question! Were you using scans of the register or transcriptions?
This opens up lots more of exciting avenues for me. I really can't thank you enough!

Best wishes,
David.

Hi David

The North Luffenham registers are one of the few for Rutland that have been published in book form by the Parish Register Society in 1896, this is now free of copyright and can be downloaded at the following site:
http://archive.org/details/registersofnorth00nort
It's also worth looking at the FreeReg website (http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl) they've transcribed a lot of the North Luffenham records, not sure if this is a fully transcribed for North Luffenham or not yet.
But the book is definitely worth a download if you can, let me know if you can't and I'll see if I can email you a copy.

That is wonderful. Thank you so much! Will download it as soon as I get home. Hoping to find a marriage for Robert Plowright in there!

Have just seen your post and as I have a possible Beeson in  a family I am tracing had a look for you in my CD's. which are transcripts of Pa Regs
I found 3 more bp's :-
Anne Beeson d/o Rich 17/12/1735 N Luffenham
Sarah Beeson d/o Richard 16/3/1728  N Luff - is she the mo of Edward bp 1746?
Mary Beeson d/o Edward & Mary 30/12/1743 Lyddington

Can confirm all details given by BourneGooner and have found a possible bp for William HALES.
Given as s/o Robert bp 29/5/1727 Lyddington - datewise seems OK for his ma in 1758.
Also found 4 other bp's for Hales children of William & Elizabeth and  all Lyddington but not sure if they are Wm & Eliz nee Beeson - the dates fit with their ma except Edward.
Edward  5/1/1752
William 14/8/1761
John 26/4/1772
George 13/8/1775
Can't find a bp for Richard Beeson anywhere in Rutland.

I would also recommend to you CD's published by Leics & Rutland FHS - they are invaluable and priced around £10 plus p&p.  They are in Excel format and therefore can be sorted by name, place, year etc.etc.

Hope you can make something of this. Happy hunting!
