« on: Sunday 12 May 13 06:20 BST (UK) »
I am looking to confirm a marrriage of George and Sophia Winterton from Rutland George born 1814 Empingham Sophia Duncombe born 1814 North Luffenham
In 1841 census they were aged 25 yrs
they had a son born in 1837 so it is bef this I am guess between 1833 and 1837
they could have been married in Emp Exton or North Luffenham
Many Thanks Jan

On familysearch George's baptism is 2/5/1814 Empingham , and on online trees it has his marriage to Sophia as 28/7/1835 in Exton Rutland, but it doesn't say where the info. comes from.
regards.

Have checked my Rutland P Reg transcript CD and can confirm the marriage on the28/7/1835 at Exton byBanns. George was of Empingham and Sophia was of North Luffenham.

Have also found 3 sons of George & Sophia baptised as follows:

Albert 25/9/1836   Exton George a Labourer working at Empingham
George 18/8/1836 Empingham
Philip 8/4/1838      Empingham

Hope this is of help.

Glad the information was useful.  I was interested in your post because I have a Winterton in a family I am researching.  My research details are given in my post and I recommend you do this too.

I am however, inclined to ignore your request for more look-ups as it feels like a request for personal research which I do not do.  The aim of this message board is to open your requests for as many as possible to read in the hope others can help.

I have bought these CD's from LRFHS and would recommend you to look at their website where there is a comprehensive list of their publications which can be posted anywhere in the world.
The Rutland CD's I use the most are nos 70, 95 & 100 and range from 1538 - 1840.
