No he wasn’t RAMC. My dad knows little things through speaking to one of his older brothers.
RAMC=Royal Army Medical Corps.
This Robert Curry was medically discharged & never went overseas.
We just need to establish which regiment he was in.
Where has the R.Scots info come from?

There's another Robert Curry R.Scots served with the 1/8th. 2nd. & 11th. Batts
.
This is the only other Robert Curry R.Scots.
He doesn't appear on the International Red Cross POW site so not sure if he was captured.
Unfortunately around 60% of WW1 service records were destroyed in the Blitz so no way of knowing if he's your man.
The only other info about him is that his service no. at attestation in the 1/8th. was 8300. He then transferred to the 2nd. & had the no. 335616. His Batt. at discharge was the 11th. same number.
The reason for the number change is that the 1/8th. was a Territorial Batt. & in early 1917 all Territorials were given a six digit number.
