The gist of it is that the poet fancies a girl who has got dark skin beautiful golden hair, perfect breasts slim arms and lovely hands. The Girl's name is Enid the daughter of Ynwil and she comes from Tir Ifan in the Kingdom of Gwynedd which is far away from the poets home. The poet has a bitter rival for the girl's affections called Sion Peredur, but she is no more likely to love Sion than she is to love an Englishman. The girl's father is like a mighty warrior defending her from the bard's affections and her mother and sister's wouldn't support his match with her. He despairs that he hasn't got much chance of getting the girl and that he isn't as good a poet as Dafydd ap Gwilym so is unable to woo her with fine verse.

To get a proper translation you would need to ask an expert in medieval Welsh Poetry for help, it might be worth writing to the Welsh Department at Aberystwyth University to see if they are able to provide  a proper translation
