My Gt Grandfather born in 1893 lived at no 4 Tedstill Cottages, as stated on the 1911 census. I know no 4 doesn't exist anymore, does anyone know why? or what happened to it? and when? Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

No.1 and no.3 Tedstill Cottages still exist, but there's no no.2 or no.4.

Since the 4 cottages were terraced, I would assume that the four cottages have, at some time, been converted into two larger homes.

So no.4 probably does exist, but as half of no.3.  :-\

Regards,

Maurice

Ah thank you Maurice. Would make sense, because they are quite big cottages!
Thanks again

I spoke to the lady who lives at number 3 and she says there are 3 cottages there, 1, 2 and 3. Nothing has been knocked down or added to the cottages. The cottages are in a X shape. 1 and 3 the end ones. 2 and 4 were the ones running vertical which has now been made into 1 cottage (no 2) but is very small.
Thanks for your help anyway. much appreciated.
