Richard Embling 1664 Faringdon
« on: Friday 07 June 13 07:20 BST (UK) »
Hello, if anyone has available the Faringdon, Parish Registers, Baptisms 1653-1964, I would really appreciate if someone could look up the baptism of Richard Embling who was born in 1664. He married Anne Cox in January 1685, and died in 1715. There may be nothing, but I thought it worth a try. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks for that. That will be one of Richard (senior)'s sons. Oh well, at least I guess I know I can not take the Embling line back any further than what I have.

This is a long shot as your posting was a few years ago but Richard Embling b 1688 is my great (x6) great uncle !  My grandmother was an Embling from Lambourne, Wiltshire.  I too can't seem to go back any further at the moment, unless I go to the Reading Records office, where I understand the Wiltshire records are held.

That must make us something like 7th cousins. I would be interested to see your line.

Lambourne is in Berkshire, the records should be at Reading.

OK, I shall need to copy it out.  This is my first day on rootschat so I have to learn how to find my way around and get it to you !  I see there is an attachment option below, so leave it with me and I'll get back to you.

That will be great - you could also send it to me by the message function.
My line goes Richard Embling (1664-1715) m Anne Cox, Jonathan Embling (1704-1761) m Elizabeth Langstone, Jonathan Embling (1747-1812) m Mary Murphy, Jonathan Embling (1772-1856) m Mary Lay, John Embling (1820-1911) m Leah Bright, Mary Embling (1845-1902) m John Kemp, Alice Kemp (1880-1966) m Walter Smith, then my grandmother, mother and me. With the Emblings I seem to have had a lot of younger or youngest sons in my line.
