WW1 Germany. What is a "Sanit. Utffz."?
« on: Sunday 09 June 13 11:36 BST (UK) »
I think I read the gothic script correctly and it does seem to be ff and not ss. Can someone enlighten me to what this person's army role was?
Thanks

Utffz. would be Unteroffizier; equivalent of an NCO.
Sanit. is an abbreviation of Sanitätsbataillon, a Medical batallion.

So an N.C.O. in a Medical Batallion.

Maurice
