McQuilliam Family
« on: Saturday 15 June 13 15:10 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am researching a family surname of McQuilliam, which has Irish origins. These particular McQuilliams came over from Ireland and settled in Whitehaven, Cumberland.
I wondered whether anyone could tell me where in Ireland the name originated?

The people I am interested in are:
Rose McQuilliam, born around 1819 and her mother, also Rose McQuilliam, (husband unknown), who was born around 1785.

Thanks

Sue

Hello Sue, I am pretty sure this is my family.  I will check with my Mam, but I think her family first lived in the Whitehaven area before moving to Newcastle upon Tyne.

My Grandpa was Charles and would have been born in the 1890s. My Mam had various Aunts and Uncles, but I need to ask which was from Charlie's side. I will do that.

Hi

I researched this family for a client of mine who has since, sadly died.

However, I still have all the information I found for him and will gladly share it with you.

Once you have submitted a number of posts I should be able to send you a private message, or vice versa, with which we can exchange email addresses if you wish.

Thanks

Sue
