Templedean Hall, Haddington (Children's Home)
« on: Monday 17 June 13 22:20 BST (UK) »
Would some kind person be able to help me where I would be able to find records of this home.  I think this is where my Mother went after her Mother died but not certain, she always said she went to a boarding school but about 2 months before she died she said it was a children's home and we know she went to Haddington.

Thank you.

Emma

Hi Emma,

Can I suggest you contact the John Gray Centre in Haddington, East Lothian. Most of the East Lothian records were transferred to here in last couple of years.

You can phone or email, or if in the county why not take a trip, it isa great resource, I have been once, and promised myself a repeat visit.

Emma

Just to mention, Tenterfield was another children's home in Haddington.  If you Google that, you will find references to Tenterfield Girls' Orphanage.

Best wishes
