Hi - I am hoping someone can help with my g-g-grandad a Samuel Lewis.The info I have so far is
1841 census age 17 living in dundyvan lanarkshire - a fire man
1851 census age 26 living in pottery village old monkland - an engine keeper born in Dumfries
1861 census - unable to find him
1864 marries Ann Wood in Aukland Durham - age 35 - a fireman - father John Lewis [deceased] upholsterer
1871 census age 43 living in wolsingham Durham
1881 census Ann Wood has remarried to a Henry Kerr
I have been unable to find any birth record for Samuel or any info on an upholsterer called John Lewis in the Dumfries area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
