Freear family - possible emigrants
« on: Thursday 04 July 13 21:55 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have been researching the Freear family who lived in the Lancaster, Morecambe area in the 1940s/1950s

They were Jack B Freear (b.1925 Skipton) and his wife Hildegard (nee Klusick) who married in the district of Lancaster in 1950.
They had two children in the same district, first in 1951 and then in 1955.

I have despite the rare surname come up with no marriage for the children, nothing on electional records, they just seem to vanish. Which is why I am thinking they may have emigrated.

Don't have a clue where to however!

Some ever hopeful google searches as brought about zero clues.

Hope someone can help me out,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

The electoral registers that are available online are not complete, as you can opt out of the versions made available to the likes of FindMyPast, 192.com and marketing companies.

As Carole suggests, the name you had for the son appears to be incorrect, if you check his birth again, you will most probably then find a marriage for him and then children.

There is a possible telephone number for his wife on www.bt.com

I would suggest they are still in the area, but you will need to check the electoral registers locally.

Unless you are a close relative I would advise against phoning but use the address on bt.com to send a letter.

Hello,

Sorry about breaking the rules, I didn't do it on purpose. Plain forgot, though how people are to track living relatives down on here when that is a rule, I don't know.

Seems I jumped the gun somewhat, thinking the family had emigrated. All because of a mistake of mine regarding the name of the son!

My excuse is that I was researching another part of my tree first and one of those people had the same first name that I mistakenly gave to this Freear.

Thank you for being so eagle eyed and pointing out my mistake.

It can be tough enough researching without making schoolboy errors like that!

Sorry again about giving the names of living persons
