Agnes(s) Bill (nee King)
« on: Monday 15 July 13 19:03 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone has any information on the family - Bill. My great great aunt, Agnes King ( born in Whitehaven), married a chap named William Harper Bill  in Whitehaven in 1863. In 1871 census they were living in Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, Worcs and at this time William (aged 33) was a manager in an iron works - Staffs Kingswinford ( don't know if this last name is a company or place). They had, again at this time, 3 children William A age 3 born in Coalbournbrook, Frank J age 2 born in same place and Florence A age 10months born in Wollaston. Do forgive me as my knowledge of English place names and counties is not up to speed.

Kind regards

Here are the children's baptisms from FamilySearch:

William Arthur - 20 May 1867
Frank James - 18 May 1868
Florence Agnes - 26 May 1870

All baptised at St Mary, Kingswinford, Staffordshire, children of William Harper Bill and Agnes.

(Kingswinford and Wollaston are only about 3 miles apart, one on each side of the old Staffordshire/Worcestershire county boundary.)

William Harper Bill was the son of Robert Bill b. 1815 and Mary Ann Weston b.1811. William had four brothers and two sisters: James b. 1861 who married Louisa Grigg who I believe has living descendants : Alfred b. 1846, a solicitor, who married Edith Midlane : John Weaver b.1851 who married Susannah Hall: Robert b.1855 who married Martha Hall with living descendants and Mary b.1857.

William Harper's father was Robert Bill of Wolverhampton who married Mary Ann Weston b.1811
William had several brothers and sisters including Lucy Mansfield Bill who married Frederick Stuart the founder of Stuart Crystal.

Robert Bill's father was Robert Bill of Wolverhampton, a carrier who married Jane Thomas.
