Hi Roy.

Post number three!

During the war Evelyn lived at 15 Herbert Street, Brithdir. She trained at the isolation hospital in Poole (1937-1940) which was affiliated to the one in Cardiff. Qualified in 1940.

Yes, that is the information I have; for a minute I thought you had a different hospital but no worries we are singing off the same song sheet.  How much reserach have you done on the Tilley family?

anything and everything to do with the village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in Gwent.

Nothing bar the census returns but, as I wrote, my friend knew absolutely nothing about her real family until the last few days. She is over the moon. Are you part of the Tilley family? I note you seemed to have an interest in Evelyn.

Regards

Mike

I suggest you now delete your email from the message, I have made a note of it.  I have an interest in everyone with a connection to Brithdir.  I'm taking my grandson up to Malvern this morning and I will email you on my return.

I'm also interested to find out about Evelyn Winifred May Bosworth. This name appears on the application for my adoption in Croydon in 1952. I was born there in 1948 in a mother and baby home run by "The Mission of Hope".

I only became aware of this document when my mother (by adoption) died some years ago. I had previously been given very little information about my birth mother. An older sister, also by adoption, told me my "real" mother was a "fever nurse" and I now have a photo which she thinks is of me as a baby in my mother's arms.

Christopher.

Hi Christopher
As you may be aware I have a great interest in all with a connection to Brithdir and for the past 12 years I have been gathering information on all those who were born, lived or just past through there.
If I can help in anyway then please make contact.

Hi Christopher.
My interest is for a friend whose ancestry we have been researching. I will talk to her later today as this may be shattering news for her, and you as I believe she is your sister born and adopted in 1946.
We have Evelyn's history.
At some stage we will need to contact privately.

Mike,

Thanks for your reply. That was quick!

Yes, we must establish private contact.

Chris.

Roy,

Thanks also. Depending on where this takes me I may be interested in some of the info you have.

I'm tied up today and tomorrow but will establish communication again after that. My friend Liz is shattered! Just for now, Evelyn was born in the USA her father the first lad from New Jersey to be killed in WW1. Mother who was Welsh returned to England in 1916; there is no trace of her marriage in the US but a very interesting history which we'll share.
All for now.
Mike
