Hi Mike,

Thanks again for you reply. I think we have to assume there is only one Evelyn W M Bosworth of that era.

I had always assumed that somewhere out there I might have siblings but the surprise is that one might be older. I hope your friend is not shattered in a bad way.

Just as interesting is me coming to terms with Welsh ancestry!

I look forward to hearing from you again next week.

Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Chris.

Unexpectedly free today! I will give you my email address although not a recommended thing to do on this site. If you can respond by email when you receive it I'll then delete it from this thread.

Roy,

I cannot guarantee the provenance of the photo I have. If however you have any photo that you can be sure of then we might need to compare.

Chris.

Hi Chris
Sadly I do not have one to compare but I could show yours to an elderly lady (101) who still lives in James St, the next street to where Evelyn lived.  Family, old friends and former neighbours are diminishing at a fast rate. My mother, who lived in Charles Street, past away at age 91, and two of her neighbours who both celebrated their 100th birthday have passed away in the last year.  I have managed to put names to faces on a number of old photos but it is getting harder due mainly to those who lived in the village for years and years are now thin on the ground.  Even in my time (born 1944) I can confidently boast that in the 1950s I could name everyone in the village.  Brithdir consisted of 350 dwellings, a church, four chapels and three schools.  One pub, one workmen's club and one institute and library.  You virtually had friends from birth, went through the schools together, played in the village soccer and cricket teams and grew old together.  It was a happy and friendly village then unlike today, so many newcomers have moved in.

Hi Roy,

OK. It's quite a small photo so I'm not sure how well it will copy. How can I send it to You?

Chris.
