Gadget, that was fast!, I had been looking for Hxxxx then Kxxxx however your suggestion of New Luce looks v promising.
As regards the 1861 Census could well be the same family , also on that Welsh Census page - William Muir age 37 a farmer of 338 acres plus  family all born Scotland.
I'll take a closer look tomorrow

It looks as if it's written as Newluce, with a cramped N.

Many fro, that area came by boat to the Mersey. Mine came Kirkcudbright-Creetown-Mersey-Merionethshire/Denbighshire
