William Grant Buchan
« on: Friday 19 July 13 22:54 BST (UK) »
He was born in Morayshire, Scotland around 1887, son of James Buchan and Elsie Grant.  He died in Brisbane on 15Aug1951.  I am trying to fill in the other details of his life, such as date of emigration, spouse and children, and anything else available.

I have no idea where to start with Australia genealogy resources.  Any help would be very appreciated.

Buchan, Finnie, Hazel, Brebner, Burgin or Bergen, Thurlby, Doherty, Murray, Livingstone, Jennings, Peeling, Hayes

Hi,

W Buchan, 25, born at Elgin was an Assistant Cook on board the "Mamari" that arrived in Sydney on 9th June 1912 from London.

The 1921 Electoral Roll has William Buchan as a Cook residing at Rainworth Estate Rosalie Brisbane.  Also residing at the same address was Marion Bryson Buchan.

Hi,

A possibility for Marion Peebles

There was a Marian Peebles passenger arriving into Brisbane on the 'Suffolk' on 29th August 1914.  Jane and Elizabeth were also in the same vessel.

John, Joseph. Laura & Lilly arrived the year before (29th Sept 1913) on the 'Omrah' .
