Thanks Sandra, I recently found out about Mary Ann Smith, husband and children but I didn't have any of their other information. I did try finding their children but had no luck with any of them.
As for the John Hazel on the 1900 census, does is say he is married?
We know about her brother John F Hazel married to Gertrude, the info you posted, he married her in 1870 so if it says he's married on the 1900 census then it must be him

If you come across any information on Mary Ann and Samuel Smith's children I'd love to see it.
Mary Ann also had a sister Ann Hazel who married Robert Dowling in Waterbury, CT. I know she died when she was 29, shortly after giving birth to her 5th child. If you could find anything there too that'd be great. If it's too much work please don't do it.
