Information on Robin O’Neal from India/Borneo please

Hi,
My mothers uncle – Robin O’Neal (aka Robin St Clair O'Neal) was born abt 1894 in India (place unknown). According to my mother, Robin left the family home and was hardly seen again. Rumour had it that he ended up in Borneo – doing what?

What I have found out is that he did married  - aged 42 years.

Robin’s siblings were –
1. Clifford Gordon Patrick O’Neal – b. 26 Nov 1886 in Poona, India and d. 20 Jul 1966 in Belgaum, India (my Grandfather)
2. Esther Mary O'Neal – b. 14 Oct 1905 India Ch: 19 Oct 1905 Poona, India – I have no information on her – if she survived childhood, married and had a family or when she died.

Parents were –
John William O'Neal (aka William Patrick O'Neal/Patrick O'Neal/Willie) b. 16 Dec 1847 in Poona, Bombay, India d. 26 May 1919 in Ajmer, India
Helena Rebecca Sanger  (aka Lena O'Neal /  Mary) b. 22 Aug 1866 in Poona, India d. 15 Oct 1905 in India.

Any information on Robin, his wife Lillian and sister Esther Mary O’Neal would be greatly appreciated.

I have since been talking to another family member who seems to think that Robin O'Neal (b. abt 1894 in India) was in Borneo owning or running a rubber plantation and at some stage went broke.

Did the rubber business in Borneo collapse at some stage and did the plantations go out of business?

I am curious as to why you feel that John William O'Neal born in 1847 is the same person as William Patrick O'Neal listed as Robin's father.
