Re: Help with Ayres/Pike/Stanley History

I am trying to trace my family tree - great great grandfather was George Ayres born around 1833 or 1834 in towcester/northants area - he worked on the land as an ag lab or 'waggoner of horses'? I understand that he married an Ann Collins - not sure if Ann was a local girl or if she came from Liverpool or Ireland
My great grandfather was also George Ayres born in 1869 and he moved to Yorkshire and Married a Minnie Smith who was born in Aspley Guise around 1867
Does anyone have any further information which may help me - thanks

Hi

Where was George jnr born and when and where did he marry Minnie?

Have you found a marriage between George snr and Ann Collins?

Have you found them on any census as that should give Ann's birthyear and birthplace

So if George Collins was a visitor and George Ayres was born 1869 - where is George Ayres in 1871 as he is not with his alleged parents?

1871 shows George b Cold Higham Northants
Thomas = Potcote
John, Mary & Elizabeth = Pattishall
William = Potcote
George = Pattishall

George is shown as Ayers - not Collins - but is shown as a visitor

Are you sure that he is George & Ann's son?  What fathers name is given on his marriage cert to Minnie?

Difficult to know whether the children are surname Collins or Ayers.  Thomas is shown as Thomas Collins and the enumerator has then dittoed Ayers from Ann's surname so it looks like Thomas Collins Ayers.  All others are similarly dittoed
