Unable to find Marriage Date

I have been trying to locate a marriage date and preferably a record for my 5xGreat-Grandparents. I have searched the Marriages and Parish Marriages on findmypast but not managed to find anything which I have found surprising on the basis that they had a relatively uncommon name. Their names were:

Edward Tatum & Elizabeth Roden (most likely married in Mold, Flintshire).

I have already found a fair bit of lineage for both of them, but the marriage record is something I would be eager to locate. Their first daughter was born in 1838, so I think there is a chance that they were married after 1837 and therefore have a GRO certificate, but i think it is unlikely if they do not appear in the index.

Does anyone have any other ideas for this? would it be possible to contact their record office and ask whether there is one that hasn't been put on findmypast?

Civil Registration began on 1st July 1837, and even then wasn't compulsory!
There is nothing obvious on FreeBMD - so you need to look for a parish register entry?

An online tree has them marrying in March 1837?
No further details!

Cant find a Marriage for Edward/Elizabeth though:

1841 Census has a ROBERT/ELLINOR Roberts both age 40 in Mold;
Children;

F/S has this;

Edward is named as Roberts or Tatum on the family search baptism record. Wrexham Dec 1837 marriages vol 27 fol 378 - ancestry, freebmd & findmypast have an Edward Roberts as 1 of the 4 males but in all sites only 3 females are named. Is there any way to browse the index sheets to see if a RODEN is there but not transcribed [perhaps at bottom of page]?

Hi,

Thanks for all of the feedback - the only thing is, I have already done a lot of research into the Tatums and Edward Tatum was christened on the 19th April 1815 in Mold, Flintshire and was the son of Thomas Tatum (1775-1844) and Margaret Tatum Nee Cheney (1776-1842). Therefore, this Edward can't possibly fit in? I am certain of their names as I have their daughters (my 4xGreat-Grandmother's) birth certificate which lists an Edward Tatum and Elizabeth Tatum (formerley Roden). I am certain that they must have married around 1837, but as to which side of the start of civil registration it was is still a mystery to me!

As both of them were born in Mold, and at least their first seven children were born there (all nine in Flintshire), I am 99% sure that they would have married there as well. So if it is possible to view an index of all the parish marriages that took place in Mold from about 1830-1838, then I should surely find them?

There appears to be a gap in the Mold parish banns online between 1835 and 1843, so maybe the pages were lost or missed out on transcription? 

Maybe the full set are available at the records office?
