Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate the prompt response.

How confident are you that John Brophy and Judith Delany are the parents of the James Brophy who married Mary Mines? The evidence I have come across so far is circumstantial but not conclusive. I suppose certainty is too much to hope for!

Regards,
EssB

 :)

I see they have the parish records indexed on Ancestry now. Much easier to find stuff. One or two are actually clearer than the records on the National Library site.

According to his burial record, William was married. Have you any information about his wife, and children, if any?

Good luck with your researches.

I found William's marriage. He married an Agnes Dorrington.

Name:    William Brophy
Date of Registration:    Jan-Feb-Mar, 1887
Registration district:    Dublin South, Ireland
Volume:    2
Page Number:    662
FHL Film Number:    101255

I found two children: James Brophy abt 1888 and William abt 1890. I couldn't find any records.

Agnes Brophy and her two sons are living with her brother Christopher Dorrington in Dublin in 1911. I couldn't find the family in 1901. Still looking:)

Hope this link works....

Do you know when Jane Brophy nee Fagan died. I ask because I found a very confusing record on the Glasnevin Turst.

It is a burial record for a Jane Brophy. She died in 1904. She was a Stone Cutters wife 39 Lennox Street, Dublin. Informant: James Brophy, 39 Lennox Street, Dublin.  The confusing thing is her age is given as 32. She is buried with John Brophy who died in 1910 and four of their children.

That address is where John Brophy was in 1901.

I wonder if the age was recorded correctly??
