Hi

Looking at the census the most likely Archibald was born Cullen, Banffshire in c 1830. There is a birth on Family Search for an Archibald b Cullen 13 July 1829 with parents Archibald Cruickshank and Margaret Kelman.

In 1861 he is recorded as farm grieve at Gordon Castle Home Park Bothy. Elizabeth has a separate entry but is shown as grieve's wife with children Margaret 8, Ann 6, Elizabeth4, Jean 3 and Jemima 7 mo.

In 1871 he is at Gordon Castle Home Farm as a farm manager of 800 acres 400 arable employing 17 lab and 7 women. Elizabeth is with him and there are further children in James 8, Archibald 6, Thomas 3 and John Alexander 1.

Have not been able to find a census entry for him in 1881 and beyond. In 1851 he would seem to be a farm servant in Nairnshire. Cant see an entry for 1841 but that may be down to transcription.

Hope this helps

Hi

Was the connection to Dublin a death in 1902 ?
Libindx has an Archibald Cruickshank died 1902 Dublin Ireland , born C1828.

You could try searching the 1901 Ireland Census -
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
There is an Archibald CRUIKSHANK age 72 in Dublin , born Scotland , but I don't think the family matches.

Hello again

There are births on family search in Bellie, Moray with parents Archibald and Elizabeth Green for Archibald, James, John, Thomas, Robert, Jemima, Jane, Elizabeth and Isabella. Elizabeth also has an entry in Enzie, Banffshire. Enzie is adjacent to Bellie.

Here's a link to the family in 1901 Irish census- rest of household all born in Dublin city:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Merchants_Quay/Malpas_Terrace/1345391

Archibald Cruikshank in 1901 lists his occupation as printer which might be a match for this marriage in Dublin in 1882 (father also called Archibald & a printer)-
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/e8124f0562923

Thought this was possibly a previous marriage for Archibald in 1852 but the 1882 marriage says bachelor:

Thank you to everyone for their replies.
The info from Scotland is definately them. I believe the Irish record that is most appropiate to be the Archibald living with the three children (all born in Scotland.)

The record from the wills also seems appropiate.
