Hi Tracey
I have just come across your post. My mothers maiden name is Cruickshank and her father was Archibald Cruickshank born 1864 in Bellie, Moray, Scottland to Archibald Cruickshank and Elizabeth Green. This is the family of Cruickshanks mentioned in your correspondence. He immigrated to South Africa and married my grandmother Molly Nefdt. My mother is one of 6 children. Please let me know if you require further information.

I have a tree of this family going back to Archibald Cruickshank and Christian Simpson, who were married in Keith in 1761, though I can't vouch for the accuracy of the earliest generations. If anyone would like to see it please PM me. I have not been able to link this family to my own Cruickshank family from Rothes.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi Dianne,

I have been looking for the family in a long time. My mother was Isabel Lorraine Griffiths nee  Cruickshank - Auntie Margarets' sister. I am Gwendoline Patricia Griffiths (Gwen) married to Kenneth Vincent Wheeler (ken) I would like to get into contact with you.
I have quite a bit on the family tree but I would like to have more.
Regards

Ken & Gwen Wheeler

Are Isabelle's parents Archibald Cruickshank and Elizabeth Green? If so did she go to Dublin with them?
Thanks

Hi Tracey,

Thank you for your email. Archibald Cruickshank and Molly Nefdt nee Johanson were my grandparents. My mother never left South Africa. She was born Jul 3 1918 and lived in South Africa all her life.

Regards

Gwen Wheeler

Thanks.
Do you have any information on Archibald Cruickshank's family in Scotland or Ireland?

Hi Gwen

I do have a little family history that I can share with you, although it's not a lot as my Mom was very young when her parents died.

I live in Durban and have two Sons aged 32 and 30.

Kind regards
Diane

Can someone help with the 1851 census for Archibald Cruickshank age 19 in Nairn Scotland. Although I can find a record of it on the LDS website I cannot get it up on Scotlands people. I am trying to find whereabouts in Nairn and with whom. Thanks
