I think Lily may have died died later than 1935 as the birth of Peter B Winter was registered in Cambridge in the June quarter 1937 where the mother's maiden name is Parnell. Her death was registered in the same quarter in Cambridge, so possibly she died in or shortly after childbirth.

An Edward Samuel R Winter died in Cambridge registration district in Sep 1977 age 85, dob 1 Sep 1892. If this is the right Edward* then it seems the family lived in Cambridgeshire from 1922 onwards. This makes lemur's post even more relevant ie Gladys didn't marry where her father was living. I'd start with the Lincolnshire marriage as there were many airfields in that county, where an American serviceman could have been based.

* It looks as though it is the right Edward as there's a birth of an Edward Samuel R Winter in the Dec quarter 1892 in Medway registration district

Ah ok, thanks,

I know Lily died giving birth to Peter so it must have been 1937.

The other siblings I am searching for information about are:

Betty Olive Winter, b. 1921 in Kent. We think she went to live with her grandparents (Charles Winter and Caroline Clarke) after her mother died

Peggy Doris Winter, b. 1927. Lived in Sawston, Cambridge

Evelyn Joy Winter b. 1931. Was fostered out by Dr Barnardos to Ipswich after mothers death

Stanley Edward b.1933. Was fostered out by Dr Barnardos to Ipswich after mothers death.

Peter B Winter b.1937 We think he was adopted. No further information on him.
