« on: Tuesday 13 August 13 13:27 BST (UK) »
Struggling to find this "East Bank" by Kinross. (From a birth entry of 1880). Can anyone with local knowledge tell me if this place? estate? farm? was anywhere near Forgandenny?  Or any other details about it?
Thanks

Going by other place names this is the Eastbank on the 1881 Census.

added - looks like you have to enter Cleish in the Gazetteer search box.

Hi Ev,

Thank you very much for your reply - Does this mean that it isn't anywhere near Forgandenny??  My knowledge of the area is non existant (Glasgow of the 1960's was the area of my youth!!).

I am trying to link the birth of a child to a mother who was a domestic servant "domiciled in East Bank by Kinross) - with a census entry a year later for someone who may be this same mother, but is with her farming family in "Forgandenny" (her child having been adopted out).  Was Forgandenny in Kinross or Perthshire?
Cheers

Forgandenny was Perthshire at that time.

ev

Eastbank is to the right of Cleish on the map.
