John King b 1849 Lanarkshire Scotland

John left Scotland  around 1864.  His parents were George King and Isabella Robertson the family settled in Pennsylvania

I think I found John there on 1880 census  with a wife Ella also born in Scotland  daughter
Margaret aged 3 and son George aged 1 but then the trail goes cold.

Any help much appreciated.

Mercer, Butler, Pennsylvania 1880

George King 54  Born 1826 Scotland. Coal-Miner.
Isabella King 56 Born 1824 Scotland.

                 Yes they are you found a lot on them a few years back I am now trying to find John

was at the library yesterday and all I could find was the 1880 census

Not finding John and Ella after 1880 at the moment - this would be the brother. Have to check if I have already done this one a little while back.

Alexander King - son of George and Isabella  ???  Initial "R" = Robertson  ???

Alex R. King 25 Born Scotland. Father and Mother born Scotland. Mining Coal.
Minnie S. King 25 Born PA
Isabella King 2 Born PA.

More family in 1900 Cecil, Washington, Pennsylvania

Alexander King 45 Born Dec 1854. Immigrated 1865. Married 1877. Coal Miner.
Mimi F King 45 Married 23 years. Had 13 children and 6 survive.
George King 19 Day Labourer.
William King 12  Robert King 10  Earl King 8  Archie King 6

              Yes you did the only one I have nothing on is John you found information oh the

two daughters Margaret and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth King born 14 November 1851 in Scotland Died 23 October 1918 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth married William Mac Nish Allen 25 Dec 1869
William was born 18 March 1847 in Scotland Died 26 October 1918 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania. Burial   - Rumbarger Cemetary, Du Bois Pennsylvania

W Allen aged 22 years. Elizabeth Allen Aged 18 years and George Allen 18 years are living in West Salem, Mercer, Pennsylvania in 1870. Both William and George are coal-miners.

William Aged 53 years is a Hostter  ???   Elizabeth is aged 46 years and they are living in Mccalmont, Jefferson, Pennsylvania by 1900 with a son John Aged 17 is a blacksmith
Elizbeth had 6 children and 3 survive.

Yes she was I have just found a marriage for a John King  father George on family search

in 1870 to an Ellen Allen in Ohio what do you think could this be them ?

Sorry Sandra  William McNeish Allen who married Elizabeth King was born in Lanarkshire -- same as John King I keep forgetting this as his father George King was born in East Lothian

On the 1870 marriage in Trumbull Ohio George King father gave permission for John's marriage
and he had to sign that John and Ellen were no more than 2nd cousins.

What do you think am I beginning to crack it ?
