Hello
I am trying to find the Scullion Family in 1911, I have full access to the census but struggling with the Father John Scullion.
The background
John Scullion born 1871 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.
1871 living in Ormesby, Yorkshire with parents
1881 living in Gateshead, Durham with parents
1891 living in Gateshead, Durham with parents
1898 married Ann Common in Gateshead (as John Brittan Scullion)
1899 son John Scullion is born
1901 living in Gateshead with Wife and Son
1902 Daughter Jane Ann Scullion born
1904 Daughter Catherine Scullion born
1906 Daughter Mary Ann Scullion born
1908 Daughter Isabella Scullion born
1911 they are no longer a family unit
Wife Ann is with youngest daughter Isabella lodging with Jane Golighty in Gateshead
Mary Ann Scullion is living in Gateshead with a couple called James & Ada Wilson and is showing as Adopted. The occupations of Ann Scullion and Ada Wilson appear to be the same so possibly a friend & co worker who agreed to look after her daughter?
The remaining children, John, Jane Ann and Catherine are all living in Benfieldside, Durham, England and from what I can see is Shotley Bridge Cottage Homes.
John is not around. There is a possible match for him living at a lodging house at 25 Durham Street Middlesbrough, however the birthplace is showing as County Derry and his is single.
The family then get back together and 3 further children are born
1912 Daughter Margaret Scullion born
1914 Daughter Ann Scullion born
1916 Son Patrick Scullion born
1938 John Dies in Gateshead
I have seen a photo of the family taken sometime between 1914 and 1916 with both parents and all children (except Patrick).
Is there anyone on here researching these guys who can shed any light on what caused the separation of the family albeit temporally.
What are your thoughts on the John Scullion in Middlesbrough? Could this be John?
Thanks
