looking for info on The Old Manse House in Jemimaville, Black Isle
« on: Sunday 18 August 13 12:03 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any info on a House called The Old Manse in Jemimaville, Black Isle. I can't seem to find any record about it but know that it was in my family in the late 1800's early 1900's. I think that it was listed and was sold out of the family in the last 20 years or so. I am interested in finding out when the Shaw family bought it and it's history before they moved in.

Any help would be greatly welcomed.

Here's a photo of the Old Manse if it'll help.
Have a Google for the Rev. Donald Sage which will give you more information about the life and times.

You might approach Highland Archives to consider whether they have any suggestions for research. They have Valuation Rolls - those for 1895, 1905 and 1915 are available online at Scotlandspeople:

Thank you very much, I'll have a look for Rev. Donald Sage as well as on SP. I'm new to this type of family history (buildings) so I hadn't a clue where to look! X

Hi, I live in Donald sage's manse in Jemimaville.  Happy to show you round if you are even in the area. It is on the market just now - look on Anderson Shaw & Gilbert Estate Agent's website - there are lots of pictures on the brochure.
