Residence Given On Marriage Certificate
« on: Tuesday 20 August 13 18:47 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have a couple from Ecclesfield who married at Sheffield Cathedral in 1854 where for both of them the residence at the time of marriage is given as division l, or so it appears to me. I've not seen this before, does anybody have any ideas what it means?

Oh yes, it does look like street now that you mention it, I think it was the top one which looks more like an L but the bottom one does look like St.
Thanks everyone.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
