That's bonza! You're a magician!  It's definitely the family and a distinct possibility that Aunty Jean may have ended up there with them as you suggested. Hopefully the girls will have continued the naming tradition!

My daughter lives in Cairns, Queensland, just up the coast by Australian standards!

Thank you

John

Hello Monica, once again, thanks to your efforts I have found an elusive ancestor!

I followed up on the link you provided to the Gold Coast Bulletin by writing to the editor but received no response.

I contacted the Australian branch of RootsChat and received lots of information indicating that Aunty Jean had moved to Australia.

In the meantime, unbeknown to me, my daughter, who lives in Cairns, telephoned the funeral director, who in turn contacted the family, who in turn telephoned my daughter to confirm that Aunty Jean did in fact move to Australia, where she died in 1977.

Last Friday, I spoke to Aunty Jean's grand-daughter in Queensland and finally got to know the person I'd been looking for, for so long.

I can't thank you enough because I'd never have found her without your help.

Best regards, John

Goodness, John. That is great news. Amazing how it has all come together for you. To think that you have also made direct contact with all the help and assistance over there is brilliant  :)

Thanks for the update. We all love hearing how things turn out in time.
