Peter Burns
« on: Sunday 25 August 13 20:00 BST (UK) »
Peter Burns was born in the West Indies of Irish parents about 1825.  It is believed that the family moved back to Ireland, possibly to County Longford around 1840.  Looking for his family.  He may have had a sister Bridget.  He married Margaret McNulty most likely in Brooklyn, New York, around 1850, so he left Ireland before that.

My great grandfather was Edward Burns (born late 1800s and married M. Fox) and his father was also Edward Burns.  They both lived close to Ballymahon in Co. Longford.  I don't know who their siblings were yet.  I'd be happy to share any information I have with you.

I still don't know who Peter's parents were and am looking for clues.   I will keep you in mind.  If you should come across any connection to Peter, let me know.  Thanks.
