That is not the correct  location. The coordinates in that url are 436503, 566500 whereas the correct coordinates are 436000, 567218

I use Apple and Safari, and I can't get anything from this website, the updated link, or the basic route i.e. www.old-maps.co.uk. It's very strange. I have also tried to connect using Chrome without any success. I'm sure that a few years ago I actually bought historical maps from this address. In any case, perhaps you can help me, I am trying to decipher an address on a 1906 Death Certificate. It is in South Shields and looks like Bockwray (or possibly Dockwray) Bank. Can I attach an image to this post? If so I can scan it for you to look at.

It is Dockwray Bank at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/435778/566635/13/101249
If you can't see that go to http://maps.nls.uk/view/101099393#zoom=5&lat=2500&lon=1632&layers=BT and Dockwray Bank is the short street runnig from Sch to between the T & H of East Holborn.

Hi, I was just reading an older post from someone looking for Turn Coat Row Cottages which I found helpful and will dig out some old maps but I'm also looking for a street name from the 1871 census that looks like West Holborn if Im reading the very ornate writing correctly. It seems to be a street that has a fair few shops and many pubs amongst them The White Swan, The Royal Oak, The Bay Horse and what is possibly The Seamans or Seafarers Arms, also a ? Hotel with an odd name The Writers Slates Hotel???? but think am probably misinterpreting that one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lynne

You can see West Holborn on the 1896 map at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/435601/566341/13/101249 You will have to change the zoom level. The map shows all the pubs.
