Going  by  1871 census , there's this marriage,  Marriages Mar 1866   (>99%)

Should I order the marriage and see if it says bachelor or not?

Eli could of been born to Sarah as it is estimated as 1865 and they married 1866?

As I said, they were together in 1861 with children Thomas and Agnes.
I can't see an earlier marriage for Leonard

A few trees  on Ancestry  show them   as having  4 children  before they married,  and 5  after ,   maybe Sarah   said  no more children  unless  we  marry ? !!!

Not sure if you saw the marriage I mentioned for 1866 in Reading and as they were together in 1861 it does look as though they chose to marry late.
A birth certificate for Thomas  would show his mother if you really wanted to check.

I believe I found a baptism for Sarah Wiltshire.
