Glad to be able to help.  Interesting that the locals from this area around the Castlecomer Plateau ended up working in the collieries in Durham.  The area surrounding Modibeadh would have been known as the colliery district, (although all the mines are closed now)     The majority of people emigrating from this area would have a strong family tradition of working in the mines, as they were the main employer in the district for well over 150 years.
One of our Bannans came from "The Western Sahara" according to the transcription but the actual transcript quite clearly says Esh  !  I've never worked that one out.

There are a cluster of villages South of Lanchester in Durham centered around Esh Laude where many Irish people from the Queens/Kilkenny  mining areas emigrated to. There was loads of work in the Durham coalfield in the 1800's, especially the latter half. I think they were skilled at mining and their strong family traditions helped them make the transition successfully. The Durham censuses can be a nightmare though with their phonetic spellings and mistranscriptions.  :-\
You were a great help.
