Looks like the whole Crossfield Family headed to Westmorland;

1841 Census
Beetham, Westmorland
HO107/1159/1/Beeetham
Thomas CROSFIELD, 30, Carpenter
Margaret, 30
Francis, 3
John, 1
JOHN, 60, Carpenter
Francis, 30, Joiner
+ 1 Servant
All NOT born in County except the 2 young Children who are.

1851 John is still with Thomas/Margaret and family and is born c 1780, Lancaster, Lancashire, so 1805 Marriage looks good. He is down as a Ships Carpenter.
Under Crosfield

KGarrad,

The December qtr 1889 Liverpool district  could very well be him, as I have Liverpool in my notes.

Will have a look at address http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

Thank you.

Where did you get info about his death, Liverpool 1889?

I am a bit puzzled because I can't find him in 1881?! :-\
Did he die before 1881, or is he just missing?
