Jane Mcdowell

I would really like to find the parents of Jane McDowell, who was born in 1853 in Garlieston according to the 1891 census when she is married to Joseph Yeowart. In the 1881 and 1901 census's she puts her birthplace down as Scotland and in the 1911 census she lists it as Dearham.
They lived in Dearham and Joseph was a miner. There oldest child was called Alexander, I had hoped I had found her parents when I found Alexander and Jane McDowell but there daughter went on to marry someone called Speedie.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have tried Scotlands people for a search for her birth with no luck.

Hi Carol ,

Looks like the Joseph and Jane were married in Cockermouth England in 1873.
That should give you Jane's fathers name

Had a look at freeCen transcription , on the 1861 census there is a Jane McDowal age 6 born Sorbie with grandparents Robert & Sarah McDowal.
Think Garlieston was in the Parish of Sorbie.
