I have not been able to trace him on the 1911 Census. But I do not think he joined up until the war started. On the medal card that I have found it states as follows.

Awarded Military Medal   FRANCE  stamped on top right hand corner.
Corps RFA 41st DAC
Regimental Number 28748
Surname Lawrence
Christian Name Charles Henry
Rank Cpl
Date of Gazette Nov 1915
Registered Paper 68/121/856 Schedule Number 251743

As I have no experience of military  records all info is greatly appreciated.

Possibly not there are a number of similarly named lads in RGA....this lad won a gallantry medal in mid 1915
Do you have any medals in the family they will have his details on rim.

We have not been able to discover any medals. Initially I hoped to trace a medal to source a service number.

Hi.. This is my Grt Grandad also. Do you know anything about his wife (my Grt Grandma) at all? My Mum and I are trying to find out some family history. Any help you could offer would be great.
