Lockington-Tebbutt, Kilborn, Ingleby
« on: Friday 13 September 13 23:19 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I have John Kilborn (Kilbourne) of Hemington, married to Elizabeth Ingleby, April 1847, in Castle Donington.  She dies at the Grange Farm in Lockington in 1851.
This marriage to John Kilborn seems to be her 2nd marriage as I have a few newspaper articles stating she is the only daughter of Edward Tebbutt, Surgeon, of Castle Donington, yet Ingleby is her surname when she marries John Kilborn.

However I cannot find her marriage to an Ingleby or anything related to her death other than a short note in a newspaper.

If someone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. :)

Also...what exactly is the difference between a Grange Farm and a regular farm?  Why do they specifically say 'Grange Farm' instead of just 'farm'?

Thank you,
Pam

It could be one of 2 things:

A farm attached to a country estate (or similar) called The Grange

Or the name of the farm was The Grange.  Farms have to have names to identify them - it's much like naming a house (eg)

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington

I can check CD Parish records.
I sent you the info/pics of graves last year for tebbutts. John Kilburn was mentioned then on Edwards probate:

"he leaves an estate of under £20  with letters of administration (with the will annexed). Edward Tebbutt the younger, late of castle Donington. will dealt with by John Kilburn attorney to Edward Wall tebbutt, son - now residing in San Francisco, California.
probate date 6 aug 1869"

Thank you Diddy and CaroleW.

Diddy, yes that is where I first came across the name John Kilborn.  The grave pics/info have been so important to my research, many thanks. :)

CaroleW- I don't know how old she was when she died.  Her brother Edward was born in 1807, that is all I have to go on.
Thanks for the 1841 census info, I must have overlooked that somehow.

Hi
I have found 2 records
St Nicholas Lockington
Elizabeth Kilborn aged 39yrs  Buried 12 May 1851
Edward Kilborn aged 32yrs  Buried  29 August 1860

So Elizabeth would have been born about 1812?

Hope this helps with your research
