Billy Beason.
« on: Wednesday 18 September 13 01:53 BST (UK) »
Billy Beason, Saltley Birmingham. Boxed professionally in the 1920's and 1930's. Or information about any of the Beason Family who also lived in Saltley. Billy's parents were Frank and Annie and he had a brother, also named Frank and two sisters, Florence-Annie, and Alice. I'd love to know more about Billy's boxing, who he fought, his wins and defeats.

Hi Doran! Thank you for your reply. Yes I did check them out and I found out that Billy had 105 professional fights but it gave me no other details. I would love to know more about who he fought and how he was perceived in the boxing community. I'll keep digging and check out the site again in case I'v missed any links. Thanks again.

June Anne is my cousin so you must be some sort of cousin too, Joseph.
Billy's sister, Florence (Annie) was my grandmother.
I have three pictures of Billy. One is a wedding picture, two are of him in boxing gear. I am happy to share them.
I once met a retired sports journalist who told me that Police once had to use mounted Police to control a crowd which rioted because they couldn't get in to see Uncle Bill box at the Metropolitan Carriage Works Sports and Social club in Saltley.
