Circa 1700 Pantgwyn Blaencletwr

Gwaralltyfaerdre Penwern 1755

Tanffynnon Llywelyn 1801

Tanffynnon Llwynrhydowen 1860

They are likely to be near Capel Dewi Llandysul.

Further to the above research.

My great great grandfather, Thomas Evans born 27th March 1806 married Mary Davies on 27 June or July 1831 at St Davids Capel Dewi.  His wife Mary Davies was born 4 July 1808 at Tanffynnon, Capel Dewi?
Thomas was a Blacksmith and he had his premises in Derlwyn Capel Dewi My Great grandmother, his daughter is shown as born 1834 Capel Dewi.  Mary died 25 January 1880,

A relative was under the impression that the family lived at the Smithy.  But an elderly gentleman has stated today that the Smithy Derlwyn has only just been turned into a small home.  Previous to that it was just the Blacksmiths workshop.  So the question is where did the family live whilst Thomas carried out his trade.

Any help would be appreciated   I do have the names  Mary and Thomas' other children with dates of birth and death,
Thanks in anticipation
Sandra

In the 1841 census there is a Joshua and Margaret Davies(both given born 1776) at Tanffynon,Llandyssil,Capel Ddewi-possibly Mary's parents.
Looking at nearby properties(e.g. Llwynrhydowen),I would suggest the current location of this Tanffynnon is at postcode SA44 4PY

Roger

The only Gwarallt (y) Faerdre I can find is a little further away - SA44 4EN

That may only leave Pantgwyn, assuming this is a separate location.

Roger

Please could someone  look and see where  Thomas Evans and Mary Davies and their children Anne born 1832, Margaret born 1834, Evan Rhys born 1836, Joshua born 1839, John  born 1840, David born 1841 Mary born 1843 were residing whilst he was a Blacksmith at Derlwyn.   They should be on the 1841/1851/1861/1871 censuses.

Thomas died in 1873  so he should show up on the 1871 and so should Mary who died in 1880.  See my earlier post for Thomas and Mary's birthdates.
A group of descendants of Mary and Thomas want to see the locations of where the family lived .

  Many thanks Sandra

Thomas and Mary are at Derlwyn in the 1871 census.
Earlier data is more problematic:-
1861: It looks like Mary and her daughter Mary may be at Derlwyn, though Mary snr. is given as the wife of an Agricultural Labourer. There appear to be 6 families given this address.
1851: Mary is with David and Mary only, identified as a Blacksmith's wife but the address is just "7,Cottage,Llandyssil"
1841: Not identified.

Roger
