Looking for Dumbleton baptism
« on: Tuesday 24 September 13 16:59 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the baptism of Ann Dumbleton born circa 1800. In the Censuses
she says she is born in Baginton, Warwickshire but I have not found that baptism
in the parish records. Have I made a mistake or are there other Ann Dumbleton
births around that time? Also, what are her parents' names?
With thanks DR

Hi

Can you confirm that Dumbleton was her maiden name and not her married name?

What was her married name and who did she marry - was hubby Thomas Lees?

Sorry - no.  She was a spinster when she married Lees in 1828 and neither of the witnesses were surname Dumbleton so no clues there unfortunately :-[

I just wanted to check the names - it has been known for someone to quote a married surname when asking for a baptismal lookup.

Somebody may have some local transcriptions but online ones are only available from 1812

This is the only one on FS

do you know if she had any siblings?

a couple of baptisms in Baginton around that time
a John son of John & Hannah in 1797 and
Joseph son of John & Mary 1808

the George & Mary in Priors had a number of children George 1798, Mary 1803, Jonathon 1795
Sarah 1806 and another George 1808

might help to look some of these up
