JAMES Phillips
England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Birth: 1 February 1833
Christening: 26 August 1833, SAINT MARTIN,BIRMINGHAM,WARWICK,ENGLAND
Father:JAMES Phillips
Mother:HARRIET

EDWIN Phillips Christened 20 Aug 1835, St Clements, Worcester, Worcester.
Parents JAMES/HARRIET

Both on Familysearch.Org

I wouldnt worry about Harriet saying she was Mar in 1851 Census as I have often come across that when the Husband is deceased.
Either that or James is working away from Home and died 1851-1861.

As James and Ada J have Children with Lucas as their 2nd christian name eg Margaret Lucas Phillips 1869 then it is possible Harriet is nee Lucas.
Given that she may have Married James Snr late in life she have been a Widow and Lucas was her maiden name.
.

Trish :)

Clutching at straws here!

I googled Bagborough where Harriett says she is born.
Then Bagborough on Genuki;

Harriet MILES Baptised 11/4/1796 West Bagborough to WILLIAM/CHARLOTTE
http://www.wsom.org.uk/Registers/WBagBap17901812.htm

William MILES Married Charlotte ALLEN, 14/4/1795
West Bagborough Records are at the bottom of this Site
http://www.wsom.org.uk/Parreg.html

This seems interesting as James/Ada name their Son Miles in 1865

From the same Site;
James PHILLIPS Baptised 17/01/1805 Taunton St Mary Madalene, to JAMES/MARY
(They are living there James/Harriet/Edwin/James in 1841  Census)

Thanks!  This does seem to be the same Harriet.  Bagborough would have been a small place then (not large now!), although I suppose there could have been two women with the same name.  They are asking people to put parts of Somerset online; I would love to do it, but I transcribe for Freecens and would not have the time.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Crazy Caz, I wonder if you can help me. I'm a journalist and I'm planning to write a book on WWII Burma, where I believe C.E. Lucas Philips served in Arakan. It would be great to talk to his family members about him, if possible. If you can help me do that, or have any more information, please email me at (*). Thanks for your help!

Hello,
I am looking to get in contact with the family of C. E. Lucas Phillips as I am interested in discussing with them the possibility of republishing some of his works.
