Hello GillianW
Marriage Cert arrived by email and yes you were right. I have spent so long researching the wrong Ada Callow that it just about made me cry.
Ada was born in 1896 as she was 28 when she married my Grandfather age 23 and her Dad was Alfred.

I would like to thank you VERY much and I am very grateful to you as I now may be able to find out what happened to my Grandma.
I find it amazing that you knew she was born in 1896 and not 1905.
Cheers

Hi Janice

That's bad news in one respect as all your previous research has been wasted.  But just think - you have now got a whole new research project ;D

I know that buying copies of certificates can be expensive but ................... ???

The original poster GillianR is the one who got the right Ada.  When you posted saying her birth was 1905 - that opened a new search hence me finding all the other info

Hi CarolW
I think it is fantastic news in a funny way, was sort of hoping you were right as I have looked so hard on the other line and got no where but now something may turn up.

All good :)))
Cheers & thanks

Hi,

My great aunt was Ada Callow 1896.
Her father was Alfred Callow and her mother was Ada Callow (nee flint)
Ada had numerous siblings, including my GM Phoebe Callow. (Ihave the full family history)
Ada Callow married John G Petford in September 1924 in Warwickshire, when she was 28 years old.

Birth of Daughter
Her daughter Irene E M was born in September 1925 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.
Irene E M Petford 1925–
Sep 1925 • Birmingham N, Warwickshire

Ada Callow married Alfred Ewer in December 1939 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, when she was 43 years old. (she married using the surname Petford)

Ada Callow lived in Birmingham, Warwickshire, in 1945.
6 Belle Vue Terrace - with husband Alfred Ewer

Ada Callow lived in Birmingham, Warwickshire, in 1950. -still with Alfred
1950 • Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

I haven't found any evidence of Ada and Alfred having any children and have not yet reliably confirmed the date of her death.

The Callows and Flints both originate from travelling/gypsy families.

It appears that we are relatives !!

Deborah

At last !! Hello Deborah, thank you so much for your reply and yes I would say we are related as what you have said all seems to fit with what I have.
Can you email me (*) so we can chat further rather on a public forum.
Look forward to hearing from you.
I'm very excited that finally I seem to be getting somewhere in my search for my grandma.
Cheers Janice
