I notice in 1871 Bella is visiting Reuben H J Dodwell & wife & family...mmmm
1901 Bella & William as he's calling himself now are together in Aston.
1911 has to be him in Sheffield.
I think Reuben Horton is someone else.He appears to have spent most of his life in the County asylum.
There's no Reuben Plimmer on the B'ham Rolls.
His marriage entry has his father as Reuben Plimmer (no surprise there)
& Bella is a witness.
Married at Bishop Ryder Jan 2 1898.

hi, thanks for posting

I did see an "Abilla Plimmer" in 1871 aged 21, dressmaker but dismissed it as no off-spring with her

then searching for a Reuben with no surname born 1867 in Birmingham, I stumbled upon the 1881 entry and thought it seemed an uncanny fit with his location!

I've been told the William in 1901 is another child (William Henry Plimmer) of Isabella born 05 Feb 1869 at Gower street, Aston Manor

It starts to get very complicated but was hoping to find more about Reuben (with an unusual name) but his career choice might be making it tricky to trace him!

thanks again

and to add even more confusion his mother was supposed to have married before 1901:

Name:   Bilhah Plimmer
Gender:   Female
Marriage Age:   35
Father:   George Plimmer

Marriage Date:   27 Nov 1886
Marriage Place:   Birmingham, St Matthias, Warwickshire, England

Spouse:   Thomas Yale
Spouse Gender:   Male
Spouse Marriage Age:   36
Spouse's Father:   William Yale

and I thought this surname would be easy to trace lol ::)
