Date of Photographic Studio in Sunderland - COMPLETED

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know when Chris Wells Photographer 12 Holmeside Sunderland was in business. I have two studio photos of unknown children and I'm trying to date the photos. Thought I'd ask here on the local board first before posting on the date a photo board.

Have a look at the historical directories site and you may find him there.

Is it later than census records?   They are another source as are electoral rolls.

Thanks for the help, I've already searched the directories, I think they are possibly around 1935.
Perhaps I should get them scanned and post on the other board.

Chris Wells is in the Sunderland Telephone Directory from 1934 to 1937

Hi Eve,
I have a photo of an ancestress taken by Chris Wells of 12 Holmeside, Sunderland. The lady in the photo died in 1929 - Sunderland reg district aged 97. I guess the photo was taken a couple of  years before- maybe she was celebrating 95 years?
